Charles F. Day & Associates, LLC is accepting resumes for Project Leader for work contingent upon contract award.

Location of Work: White Sands Missile Range, NM

Clearance Requirement: Secret

Education: Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an Operations Research or related field and/or have been awarded the functional area specialty of ORSA by either the military or Civil Service.

OR - Possess a Bachelor's degree in a field related to the specific requirements, examples of related fields are: computer science, mathematics, engineering, other math based degrees, intelligence or analysis based degrees. Required Bachelor's degree field will be vary depending on project and will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

Duties:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities defined under a single project, to ensure that contractual requirements are accomplished within time limitations, funding constraints, and with the prescribed priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills to promote team cohesion and quality assurance.
  • Coordination of planning and the development of leading edge US Army combat simulation modeling programs.
  • Improving the performance of the system as it processes complex behaviors of simulated soldiers and their interactions with the environment.
  • Guaranteeing high quality in all aspects of documentation and products delivered to the customer.
  • Collaborating directly with other engineers and management.
  • Preparing detailed specifications and requirements as per project specifications.
  • Creating, modifying and ensuring configuration management and quality assurance practices and procedures are followed.
  • Working closely with end-user to identify project or software shortfalls, problems, or improvements in a timely manner.
  • Applying knowledge of current technologies and applicable emerging technologies to assigned duties.

Required Experience:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years work experience in ORSA or in a functional area defined in a specific project including three years of experience in U.S. Army analyses of the type desired by this work statement.
  • Experience in projects can vary, below are examples of desired projects:
  • Analysis (Model and Simulations, Data, Engineering)
  • Software Development (Models and Simulation, Software Architecture)
  • Wargaming (Models and Simulations, Military operations)
  • Used the Java programming language to complete assignments in four or more classes while obtaining degree or at least one year of work experience programming in Java.
  • Experience in using the R scripting language.
  • Familiar with one or more version control packages such as CVS, Subversion, Git, Perforce, etc.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Customer service oriented, specifically adept at "expectations management".
  • Effective analytical and problem solving abilities.

Desired Experience:

  • Strong leadership skills to promote team cohesion and quality assurance.
  • Experienced in a modeling or simulations-gaming environment.
  • Recent project management/lead or business analysis experience.
  • Familiar with NetBeans/CVS development environments.

Special preference given to candidates who live in a Hub Zoned area.
