Charles F. Day & Associates, LLC is accepting resumes for Sr. Operations Research Systems Analyst Study Leader for work contingent upon contract award.

Location of Work: White Sands Missile Range, NM

Clearance Requirement: Secret

Education: A Master's degree in Operations Research (OR) from an accredited college or university.   Or a BS degree from an accredited college or university and have been awarded the functional area specialty of ORSA by either the military or Civil Service.

Duties:

 

  • Develops, validates, and maintains state-of-the-art computer combat models and wargames for use by U.S. Military weapons effectiveness analysis, tactical analysis, and training applications.
  • Designs and tests sub-models, conducts sensitivity analysis, and trains personnel in the proper use of the developed models and wargames.
  • Determines realism of the simulation and its applicability to existing and proposed studies, identifies critical parameters, develops documentation, and examines the efficiency of the simulation.
  • Conduct detailed analysis related to various configurations of the Brigade Combat Team (BCT).

 

Required Experience:

 

  • Conducts analysis applying scientific methods to support senior Army leader decisions
  • Develops and executes analytic methodologies and study plans; applying analytic techniques, principles, and tools as appropriate
  • Develops, validates, and maintains state-of-the-art computer combat models and wargames for use by TRADOC for weapons effectiveness analyses, tactical analyses, and training applications
  • Designs and tests sub-models, conducts sensitivity analyses, and trains personnel in the proper use of the developed models and wargames
  • Determines realism of the simulation and its applicability to existing and proposed studies, identifies critical parameters, develops documentation, and examines the efficiency of the simulation
  • Provide coordination efforts to accomplish Operations Research (OR) and Engineering tasks in order to produce the products defined by the Task Order (TO) or study plan.
  • Develops detailed task requirements, coordinates support with concerned element, and provides direction for personnel during assignment to the work team.
  • Demonstrated the ability to lead an assigned study effort to include the development of a study methodology, study plan, and study report in accordance with standard ORSA procedures and TRAC policies.
  • Have 7 years work experience in operations research of which one year was in combat modeling and analysis related to work described above.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong MS Word and Excel
  • Awarding of the Functional Area 49 (either dual track or single track) is sufficient to meet the requirements. The Air Defense 1181 course is not an acceptable designation

 

Desired Education/Experience:

 

  • Masters or PhD in Operations Research Preferred (A degree in Mathematics, or other Engineering Discipline will also be taken into consideration)
  • One year of combat modeling analysis - Modeling and simulation analysis and/or development preferred
  • Analysis of the Future Combat Systems
  • Analysis of data dealing with areas of conflict
  • Prior U.S. Army or U.S. Marine experience related to combat
  • Knowledge in R programming language
